Because of the increased number of attacks and the increased crime rate, more females come nowadays to Bujinkan Seishin Dojo Zagreb Warrior Art School to learn and practice this warrior skill in order to be able to defend themselves. Ninjutsu is particularly suitable for girls, because it gives them the knowledge and skill that enables them to cause great damage to the attacker, using the minimum of physical strength. Among the BSD Zagreb female students there are girls and women of different professions – there are high school and university students, teachers and instructors, nurses, computer programmers, lawyers, members of security agencies etc.
Today's Kunoichi are training, practicing and applying their skills in a manner different from their historical predecessors. Nowadays, they practice Ninjutsu to enrich their lives, devoting themselves to an ancient warrior art. They train and practice because of recreation, to achieve better physical condition and ‘stay in shape’. But, they also practice Ninpo Taijutsu / Ninjutsu because of personal and spiritual development, to gain self-confidence. But, there is one significant trait that these ‘modern’ Kunoichi share with Kunoichi from the past – they are all warriors!
During a number of years, a lot of girls became members of Bujinkan Seishin Dojo Zagreb Warrior Arts School. Nevertheless, only these who are most determined, steadfast, enthusiastic and sincere, those girls who develop their psychological and physical potentials and capabilities, stay in our school. The skills that these girls learn at trainings can be very helpful in their everyday lives. In Bujinkan Seishin Dojo Zagreb Warrior Art School we are proud of our girls, we are proud for their hard work, their knowledge and efforts!

This seminar was pretty different from the seminars previously held in Croatia. Shihan Rostohar was teaching at the very high level and that made the seminar very hard and demanding. This manner of learning and training demanded great physical and mental endurance from all the participants.
At this "Jiyu Kokoro" seminar, Shihan Rostohar taught Taijutsu through the philosophy of "Ninpo Shinra Bansho", meaning Ninpo is not limited, in the same sense as the things in the Universe are not limited! The philosophy of "Ichikabachika" the philosophy of Shinken Gata, symbolizing the real fight as it really is in its basis and nature – characterized by brutality, 'dirty' and merciless, was also taught at this seminar.

Bujinkan Seishin Dojo Croatia didn't do many demonstrations in 2006 due to many other obligations, but Bujinkan was written about a lot in Croatia and quite present on TV, especially we like to mention presentation for Japanese TV.

The campsite was on a football field, barely 30 meters from the beach.
The seminar was attended by around 50 students from all the Bujinkan Dojo in Croatia (Zagreb, Vrbovec, Pakrac, Rijeka), and with guests from Hungary. The seminar was led by Shibu Cho (main teacher) of Bujinkan Croatia, Dean Rostohar Shihan, assisted by Davor Gašparović Shihan, both just back from Japan. The topic of the seminar were the techniques, principles and feeling that the Shihans have learned and felt during their last stay in Japan. |

TWO NEW DAN LEVELS |
Bujinkan Seishin Dojo Zagreb students constantly hone their skills through their studying, training and fighting, but they are also in this way tested. Thus, for his many years of studying and practicing, for his effort, work, diligence and understanding of Bujinkan Ninpo Goran Malić is promoted to Ni Dan (2nd Dan) and Marko Cerovečki is promoted to Yon Dan (4th Dan). Both have been practitioners of Bujinkan Ninpo for many years now, both are very regular students and put in a great effort to master and understand this warrior art as best as they can. This they have proved many times over. Both have participated in many local and international seminars with various teachers in Bujinkan, and are also members of the Bujinkan Seishin Dojo Zagreb’s Demo Team, where they promote and demonstrate this art. We are proud of them and wish them many further successes in their work and mastering the Bujinkan Ninpo Budo Taijutsu/Ninjutsu warrior art. Congratulations!

BUJINKAN NINJUTSU SEMINAR HELD IN SPLIT |
On May 6 and 7, 2006 the first Ninjutsu seminar led by Dean Rostohar Shihan was held in Split. Shihan Rostohar is a student of Hatsumi Soke and main teacher of Bujinkan for Croatia.
The seminar was attended by a little over 20 people from Split, Šibenik, Mostar, Rijeka and Zagreb, mostly practitioners of other martial arts and sports.
Considering this was the first Ninjutsu seminar in Split, Shihan Rostohar decided to teach principles and philosophy of combat used by Ninja warriors through Kihon Happo techniques, but through basic techniques in Shinken gata. Everyone was delighted by the teaching and the demonstrations by Shihan Rostohar and this seminar opened up many new options for them, giving them new ideas and an insight to the Ninjutsu warrior art and Ninja ways of combat taught in Bujinkan.
We thank the organiser, Staš Dvornik and all the seminar participants for their participation and kindness.

JAPANESE TV ASAHI IN BUJINKAN CROATIA
In February Bujinkan Seishin Dojo Zagreb was visited by a crew from the Japanese national TV network Asahi. They had found out about Bujinkan Ninpo in Croatia over the Internet and were interested in seeing the trainings first hand. A crew containig Ms. Ami Miyano, cameraman and Mr. Yasuyuki Nagatsuka, translator and guide, visited the Bujinkan Seishin Dojo Zagreb on February 15 to film part of our training. The teachings and training of Bujinkan Ninpo in Zagreb impressed and intrigued them so much that they decided to make a documentary on Shihan Dean Rostohar and the Bujinkan Seishin Dojo Zagreb.
They visited again on April 26, when Mr. Masaru Oki, bureau chief, and Ms. Ami Miyano, cameraman, came to the Dojo in order to film the documentary. The shooting took two days during which they filmed Bujinkan Seishin Dojo’s trainings and another day in the private house of Shihan Rostohar. A part of the filming was also done on May 13, when Bujinkan Seishin Dojo students displayed combat techniques and tactics in nature.
The crew was delighted and very impressed by the Ninjutsu art, Ninpo philosophy and Bujinkan students’ training. Several students were interviewed and Ms. Miyano filmed many combat techniques and tactics performed by Bujinkan teachers and students.
We hope the crew will properly present the Bujinkan Ninpo Budo taijutsu art to their Japanese viewers.

SHINDENFUDO RYU SEMINAR HELD IN VIENNA |
A seminar entitled «Shindenfudo Ryu Dakentaijutsu to Jutaijutsu» was organised by Bujinkan Shinzan Dojo of Vienna, Austria, and held there on Aprili 8 and 9, 2006. It was organised by Shidoshi Arnold Stiehl and Shidoshi Jürgen Wutschek in the beautiful Matsumae Budo Center /www.budocenter.at.
The seminar was led by Shihan Dean Rostohar Fugyo Happo Biken. On Friday night, Shihans Dean Rostohar and Davor Gašparović also held training for students of the Bujinkan Shinzan Dojo and taught Shinken Gata techniques through Kihon Happo.

SHINDENFUDO RYU SEMINAR BUDAPEST |
Last weekend, on March 25/26, a Shindenfudo Ryu seminar was organised by Bujinkan Zanshin Dojo of Budapest and Shidoshi Ho Magyar Attila, with the topic Shindenfudo Ryu Jutaijutsu and Iaijutsu (simultaneous unsheathing and cutting with the sword). The seminar was led by Bujinkan Shihan Dean Rostohar, Fugyo Happo Biken, assisted by Shihan Davor Gašparović. This seminar has become traditional, and its third installment this year was attended by over 50 students from all over Hungary and Croatia.
Shindenfudo Ryu is often said to combine all the elements of Ninjutsu and Samuraijutsu. Shihan Rostohar also spoke of and taught principles and ways of application of fighting techinques, in addition to just teaching the techniques. He paid special attention to Kuden (oral transmission of knowledge, history and tradition) because techniques alone, without an understanding of the philosophy and psychology of combat, are neither applicable nor easily understandable.
The seminar was very well organised and all of the participants worked hard to better learn and grasp the shown techniques, resulting in a very busy atmosphere. Progress is visible with our Hungarian students. We also thank them for their kindness and friendship which we always feel when we pay them a visit in Hungary.

SHINDENFUDO RYU SEMINAR RIJEKA |
A seminar with the topic Shinden Fudo Ryu and Iaijutsu, organised by Bujinkan Seishin Dojo Rijeka and its teacher Sensei Robert Hrastić, was held on the 18th and 19th March 2006. The seminar was led by Davor Gašparović Shihan.
The seminar included kata from Shinden Fudo Ryu Dakentaijutsu: Musan and Karai (Ten no kata), Henkyo and Haken/Akuken (Chi no kata) and Fubatsu and Ryote Gake (Shizen Shikoku no kata).
Shihan Gašparović taught the principles involved in the kata through Taijutsu, but also explained them through Iaijutsu. Great attention was paid by Shihan Gašparović to control of space, control over the attacker, correct distance and the manipulation of the sword. Also, he stressed the importance of a realistic approach to training to everyone present (around 10 – 15 participants).

KENJUTSU SEMINAR – WIENNA (AUSTRIA) |
A Kenjutsu seminar, led by Shihan Davor Gašparović, was held in Wienna on the 18/19th February 2006. The seminar was organized by Shidoshi Arnold Stiehl, and some 20 participants from all over Austria have gathered there, and they could see and train various ways of using the sword (katana) in combat.
Shihan Gašparović has emphasized the importance of good sword manipulation in combat, of control and quick distance change, of blocking the attacks from all directions and all angles, all through various technics of using the sword. Basic positions with the sword, blocks and cuts, but also rolls have, among other things, been taught on the seminar. There was a very positive atmosphere with a lot of energy on the seminar, which is a reflection of the training desire of all participants.
Considering that most of the Austrian Ninjutsu practitioners has not trained a lot with the sword, this was a good opportunity to have an insight to the possibility of using this simple, but a very complexed weapon to use.
